I began acrylic painting when I was a child, and over the years have fallen in love with the tactile qualities of oil paint. My painting practice focuses on memory, collective memory, childhood, dreams, and the construction of identity. Often my work uses environmental elements as a form of visual manifestation; of forgotten memories and processing of trauma. I am drawn to imagery akin to story-book illustrations, folk art, and childhood nostalgia.
