This work is a self portrait formed by a collage of found textiles that I reproduced through watercolor paintings. Each textile was chosen by a member of my community as a pattern that represents safety, comfort, and home for them. When placed together, the ways in which these textiles interact and connect represents the ways in which strangers can become family.
